Veterinary Nurses 

Stacey Galliford - RVN - Head Nurse Stacey Galliford

Stacey joined the practice in 2010 whilst studying at Myerscough College and qualified  in 2012 earning her FdSc degree in Veterinary Nursing. Stacey has since trained as a clinical coach to help support other students at the practice. She has two cats Maggie and three legged Eddie and Hawley who is a qualified Pets as Therapy dog. Stacey is married to Adam and has two beautiful daughters, Poppy and Willow. Lucky for Highfield's, Stacey is a fantastic baker and we love her baked goodies!

 


Cheryl KellyCheryl Kelly - RVN

Cheryl joined the practice back in 2004. Cheryl has a particular interest in the importance of senior pet care and now offers nurse consultations to discuss ongoing care of senior citizens. She has a cat named Elvis, who came to the practice through the RSPCA with a fractured pelvis and a dog named Reda. She is married to Dean and they have a beautiful daughter, Reeva.

 


Katie AllenKatie Allen - RVN- Temporary Head Nurse

Katie actually trained as a vet nurse at Highfields and has come back to step into Stacey's shoes whilst she's on maternity! Katie has a cat Didier and a labrador called Dora. Katie loves long walks with Dora, with a special interest in pub walks- She has good taste in craft beers!

 


Ray SmithRay Smith - RVN

Ray joined the practice back in 2009 as a trainee veterinary nurse and has since fully qualified as a RVN. She also previously worked at Sheffield Cat Shelter so already has plenty of experience in handling cats! Ray has two dogs, Seb and Mindy who is actually a retired Guide dog. If Ray is not at work she is out enjoying country walks- she's always hitting the Peaks and Yorkshire treks. Ray is also our chief events manager- she organises all the fun social events at Highfields!

 


Lucy BedwardLucy Bedward - RVN

Lucy started at the practice in August 2014 & qualified in 2016 from Sheffield College. Lucy is proud Mum to Flynn, her border collie. She and Flynn train alot together and go to agility classes- you never know they could be next big thing on Britain's Got Talent!  She and Flynn will be found out walking in the Peak district most weekends!

 


Gemma SmithGemma Smith - RVN

Gemma joined Highfields in 2016 whilst studying vet nursing at Nottingham and qualified as a vet nurse in 2018. She loves working on her allotment, tending to her chickens and has a keen interest in wildlife and birds. Gemma is a dab hand at DIY and is an amateur cocktail maker!

 


Alice OwensAlice Owens - RVN

Alice joined Highfields in 2018 having worked as a specialist nurse in a referral centre. Alice has 5 dogs;River, Bryn, Dottie, Rupert and Becky, 3 guinea pigs and a ever growing brood of rescue hens! Alice is very experienced and accomplished in agility with her dogs- they are always attending and winning shows!

 


Lily ParkinLily Parkin - Student Trainee Vet Nurse

Lily joined Highfields in 2017 as a trainee student nurse whilst studying at the college of Animal Welfare. Lily has been a fantastic student and is achieving all her targets so well her tutors have told her to slow down! Lily is a great worker but she plays hard too - She loves a good night out and a dance- our resident party animal!

 


Sophie EllisSophie Ellis - Animal Care Assistant

Sophie joined Highfields in 2018 as an animal care assistant and is aiming to start her vet nurse training soon. Sophie is a great help to the nursing and reception team and ensures all our in patients are well looked after and never short of cuddles!
